Life transforming chai maker

Oh my goodness. What a difference this has made to my chai making mornings. No more ‘NOT AGAIN’ moments after accidentally having the pot overflow with hot sugary chai all over the hob.

Great Easy to Use Product

It lived up to expectations. It was super easy to use and produced a perfect cup of chai. I got the chai blend too and it was nice and spicy. Love it!!!

Above and beyond all expectations

The experience of using Loka is just pure magic - we went from a family drinking chai maybe once a month, and mostly at the cafes, and often complaining how they've made it too sweet or too watery, to enjoying it every day with perfection in every cup.

Perfect cup

I’ve never made a true chai from scratch and using the Loka was so easy and so satisfying. Added my chai blend, milk and water and waited for the fountain to start. The kitchen smelled great and brewing it with the Loka gently forced me to slow down and enjoy the entire ritual.

A Beautiful, Smart Upgrade for Chai Lovers

For someone like me who has no patience for making chai the traditional way with pots and cleanup, this device has been a game changer. It actually makes chai-making fun. I especially enjoy watching the fountain of chai roll up when it reaches the right temperature.

    Small leak/handle gets hot

I have bought my Loka and also purchased for my sister and my mother Inlaw as I loved it soooo much! A no brainer to get! Also I am a walking talking advertisement for Loka and have made many people purchase just from my demonstration however I’m a little disappointed as my very own Loka may have a defect. The handle is getting very hot and also loose. It scares me while I’m pouring it will break off and hot chai may fall. Also there is a slight leak from the crease of where the upper and lower pot “connect”. I don’t know who to call to get help . There is no customer service number for such a big product . Therefor I went from a 5 star rating to a 3 :(. Bot I would still constitute to recommend as I am sure my pit is the only defective one by luck

Hi Shailah, it’s so lovely to hear you love Loka so much you’ve been recommending it to others!

To avoid getting the handle too hot, we do recommend leaving it off centre from the burner to keep only the base under the flame - here’s a link to our stovetop guide with more info.

I will get in touch with you over email to have a look into the leak for you. 99% of the time it’s likely the seal may have been incorrect seal placement, have a look at the guides on our site which can help with this issue.

In terms of the handle, I can see someone from our support team has already been in touch, I’ll follow up with you privately to see how that’s going!

Spectacular and easy way to make chai

Works beautifully on our induction hob. Quick and easy. My Punjabi wife was initially sceptical of using the blend but says it is the best she has had, almost as good as her own!

    Loka

Hey John, we love to hear it. We get we’ll always be second to your wife 😉 We’d love to try some of her blend!

Loved it no mess tea maker

Made Desi chai with no strainer and it’s fast. Used glass top electric stove. It was fast to come to boil and it’s mess free. Used Wagh Bakri tea once came to boil added fresh ginger.

    Loka

Hi Ameet, this is what we love to hear! To many more mess free brews.

    A bit disappointing

I gifted a friend the silicone version before, and since the tea tasted so good, I decided to try the stainless steel version this time. I had high expectations, but it turned out to be a bit disappointing.

The strainer is especially hard to clean. It doesn’t get cleaned well in the dishwasher anyway, so you have to wash it again by hand.

It’s too narrow to fit your hand in, and milk residue sticks to it, so you really have to scrub it thoroughly. Now I understand why they made a silicone version—I would have chosen that if I had known. Also, the joints of the strainer aren’t very smooth, so the scrubber keeps getting caught. I even noticed something stuck in it when I first received it, but since I had waited so long, I decided to just use it.

If you’re thinking of buying one, I’d recommend going with the silicone version.

Other than that, I’m satisfied. I no longer have to worry about it overflowing when making tea, and I can simmer it longer, which seems to improve the flavor. I think I could even make Hong Kong milk tea with this.

    Loka

    Hi Nana,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a detailed review, it really helps other chai lovers find the right version for them.

You're right that the stainless steel strainer can be a little more fickle to clean - our comprehensive cleaning guides have some great tips. And this is why we built the silicone one. I'd love to send you one for you own Chai Maker, I'll reach out to you directly to get that sorted.

On the bright side, we love that you're already thinking about longer simmers and Hong Kong milk tea. That slow brew is where stainless steel really comes into its own, so there's good things ahead.
