How many cups does it make?
The capacity is 10-20oz, which brews a single serve or up to 3 medium sized cups of chai.
What stove can I use?
Our Chai Maker works on all stove types (induction, gas, electric).
Which chai blends can I use?
Our Loka blend is optimised for the chai maker. Other blends (including your own) also work beautifully. Even tea bags and powdered spices can be used.
What milk do you recommend?
We recommend dairy or oat milk (½ to ⅔ milk depending on how creamy you like your chai).
More than ¾ milk or specialty high protein milk should be brewed at lower heat to avoid risk of scorching the milk.

I started making chai at home sometime around the pandemic and since then have made it countless times, experimenting quite a lot with the recipe. It's never come out quite as good as the chai I had in India but it's good enough for friends to request it whenever they're over. All that practice doesn't mean you don't make mistakes though. A few times a year, I'll try to do too much at once and end up letting the chai boil over and it's always a nightmare to clean on our electric stove. I've made chai 4-5 times with this chai maker now and think it's got some definite upsides. I can get it started and go to get food ready or use the bathroom without worrying. It's easy to clean with the ceramic coating. It also disassembles well so you can clean the rubber gasket and the rim.
Not everything about it is perfect though. I wish the capacity were bigger so I could use it when guests come over, but it's fine day to day for 2 people. I'd like to be able to buy additional strainers so I can make chai everyday, since they get very dirty each time and it's easiest to put them through the dishwasher. It would also be nice if there was a whistling sound or some way to know when the fountain has started so I could be more consistent with how long I let it boil. All in all, I think the chai is better when I make it in a normal pot, but this chai maker gets you most of the way there and avoids the most annoying parts.

I can’t explain how many times I have had chai boil over messes. So obviously when I saw this product I was intrigued. It’s been a week since we have been using this and happy to report that me and my husband love this!!!

I funded this project on kickstarter half-jokingly (who hasn't had to deal with an unintentional milk volcano from time to time when making chai), but this is truly, sincerely my favorite thing I have bought maybe ever. I can't comment on how well it holds up over time as mine only arrived today, but I've already used it multiple times. The little chai fountain is so incredibly satisfying. I can walk away from the stove and just let it run, but I haven't yet because the chai fountain is too captivating lol. It come apart easily for cleaning. No mess anywhere. I also got the masala chai blend expecting to hate it because I'm a little picky, but I will reluctantly admit that it is nearly as good as my own, and convenient enough I will end up using the bag and maybe even order more.

I just used my Loka Chai Maker for the first time and I’m genuinely impressed. It has a beautiful design, but what really stood out to me was how simple it made the whole process. There were no boilovers, no messes to clean up, and somehow it still gave me that rich, spiced aroma that fills the kitchen like traditional stovetop chai.
If you love chai but hate the hassle, this is 100% worth it. Loka really nailed the experience.

The design of this alone would have made me buy it but I'm not kidding when I say this is the best chai I've ever had. It's fun to make and it's instantly become my new morning ritual. I personally love adding a little raw honey - highly recommend for those of you who like it a little sweeter!
