Chai Maker Stainless Steel Strainer

I can’t believe that making the best masala chai of my life is gonna be this easy. It’s literally set it and forget it: I add the chai, the masala spices, oat milk, and water, put it on the stovetop, then set a timer. (Although I do quite like watching this pot simmer over like a chai fountain… what’s this saying about a watched pot again?)

I originally bought this to attempt making a “lazy” Kashmiri chai, because the aeration is crucial to accelerating the chemical reaction between the tea leaves and baking soda to turn the mixture pink. I’ll update this review after I’ve made one.

I bought the stainless steel version. It has three large separate compartments plus a gasket. Nothing fiddly so it’s simple to (dis)assemble. Also very easy to clean/wash. But also you can just whack it in the dishwasher. Don’t listen to other reviews. If you’re an adult with fine motor skills and you think this is difficult to clean… well.

This chai pot has brought me and my husband so much joy as people who take time to make a proper coffee, tea, matcha, — and now masala chai — in the mornings.
