I really enjoy drinking masala chai but rarely have the time to stand and watch it when made using the traditional method. The Loka Chai Maker takes the jeopardy out of chai making - you can literally walk away and let it do its thing without it boiling over. It’s got me drinking traditionally-made chai more often (from once every few months to 3-4 times a week) and reducing my intake of ‘just add water’ premixes. However, there is still room for improvement, which I’m sure will come in time with tweaks to the current design.
What I love about the Loka Chai Maker:
- Enables me to put the chai on the hob and walk away while it does its thing.
- Sleek, elegant design.
- Easy to pour without having to fiddle around with a separate tea strainer - I’ve had zero spillage so far.
- Definitely forms part of the ritual of tea making without the mess.
- I think the chai tastes better because it can stay at a rolling boil instead of having to simmer it which can sometimes make the tea taste stewed and bitter in a saucepan.
Room for improvement:
- Despite the claims, it’s still not the easiest to clean. Yes, the ceramic coated pot is easier to clean than a saucepan, but there are still four parts in total which need cleaning (I find I have to remove the rubber seal every time as chai gets stuck underneath). While the ceramic coated parts clean well with a sponge, any steel parts really need hard scrubbing including the lip of the chai maker which is awkward to get to. The steel…

This is the first and only chai maker in market that make Chai (Tea) so enjoyable without making a mess if the chai boils over the pan lid.
While boiling it creates a fountain effect. And there is no strainer needed.

Try as I might I make a mess whenever I make chai. I love chai but due to the mess and hassle I don’t make it as often as I want it. I live in a rural area and there is no place to get a decent chai. This little chai fountain is wonderful, easy to use and beautiful. My daughter often makes chai for herself as well.

This chai pot has completely upped the chai game. I received this as a gift when I asked for a new dedicated chai pot for Christmas, and this thing makes the whole house smell like wonderful chai due to the fountain brewing feature. It ensures a piping hot chai that stays hot for the duration of sipping. And my second favorite part is how EASY it is to clean it! It’s so thoughtfully made, the perfect size, and I already can’t imagine my daily chai without it.
